Tradition has it, that every year at the CCC, I give away stuff that I no longer hack with to fellow hackers. It used to be a first-come-first-serve free candy store, just with technology instead of candy. However, gear and toys have become increasingly expensive and I just can't afford to give away everything for free anymore. The times were I gave away Lenovo notebooks and mobile phones in return for a beer or warm words are over. To cope with increasing demand and decreasing number of stuff I chose to attach prices. I hate that, too. I really do. The prices are meant to be fair AND to scare way freeloaders. If you think a particular item is unfairly overpriced, feel free to let me know. Please provide some evidence, do not just complain! The good news is, that I will invest the money in new stuff to play with and that should show up here a year or two later. Or it just fades in away in one of the many crowdfunding campaigns that never deliver...

It runs a crippled version of OpenWRT. Can't remember what I did to this poor thing, but it was a lot. May not be working as expected anymore.

Zyxel NWA1123-AC. 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I had it installed on the ceiling and was very satisfied with the coverage and throughput. Up to 2x16 SSIDs and different security profiles. Can be powered via poer supply or via PoE. My new router does 5ghz and thus I do not need the AP anymore. Sadly, the new router has far worse coverage than this device. Vendor press release full of bullshit bingo terms :)
